In 1990 a village had a population of 1000. Between 1990 and 2000 there were 160 births and 90 deaths in the village. 17 people moved into the village, and 23 people moved away.
Use the balancing equation to calculate the population of the village in 2000.
The village population in 2000 is 1064. This can be easily calculated using the balancing equation.
Pt = P0 + B – D + I – E
Therefore:
Pt = 1000 + 160 – 90 + 17 – 23
