Introduction

Data are the bedrock of demographic analysis. This module describes two of the most important sources of demographic data that allow inferences to be drawn about demographic patterns, trends and trajectories. These are censuses and vital registration systems. It also describes population registers and sample registration systems (SRS) as alternative methods of data collection.
