Aim
To provide an overview of the role of surveys in demographic estimation and research.
Objectives
At the end of this session you should be able to:
- Define a survey and explain the main steps involved in conducting a survey
- Outline the different types of survey according to major features of their design
- Explain the strengths and weaknesses of surveys compared with other methods of data collection
- Recognise and describe important features of some major programmes of demographic surveys.
This session will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete.
