Relational model life tables: an example (cont.)

We can derive an abridged life table for women of this area by the following procedure:

Step 1

The first step is to derive the logits of the lx column of the standard life table, rebased to a radix of 1. A spreadsheet would normally be used to do this.

The table is below. In the fifth column enter the four survey estimates (in a suitable form) and calculate the logit values.
