Aims
The aim of this session is to explain the necessity for models of fertility patterns, to set out the essential properties that such models should exhibit, and to provide an introduction to different classes of model that can be used to describe fertility patterns.
Objectives
After working through this session, you will be able to
- Set out the main uses of fertility models
- Explain and describe the desired properties of fertility models
- Describe the characteristics of the major fertility models in widespread use
This session will take about 90 minutes to complete. You will need Microsoft Excel, or a compatible application, to complete some activities.
