Figure 5 shows results and a predicted trend for India and for Mali. India has a rich source of data, mostly from sample registration systems (which India is particularly noted for) and surveys asking direct questions. Mali data is sparse and relies heavily on sibling histories (Sisterhood), which are nevertheless remarkably consistent.
